The Grundfos UP and UPS Series 100 range of canned rotor circulator pumps is specifically designed for heating systems. The pumps are also suitable for circulation of domestic hot water and for circulation of liquid in cooling and air-conditioning systems. They are available in stainless steel (N), bronze (B) and twin-head (D) versions, as well as the high-efficiency USP2 with advanced control modes.
Are flanges included within the scope of delivery when ordering circulator pumps or do these need to be ordered separately?
Flanges and seals need to be ordered separately. The type and size of the flanges and seals must be specified when ordering.
Can the pump be operated using a frequency converter?
Grundfos offers numerous speed-controlled pumps that are referred to as ‘E-pumps’ and which come equipped with Grundfos MGE motors with an integrated frequency converter. The manufacturing costs and material inputs are lower compared to pump solutions with external frequency converters. In addition, technical issues that may arise in connection with external frequency converters are avoided.

Do I have to follow the instructions for Grundfos pumps?
Yes, absolutely. The installation and operating instructions contain basic instructions which must be followed in connection with the installation, operation, and maintenance of the system. Hence, they must be read by the installer and the relevant personnel/owner prior to installation and commissioning. In addition, they must be available to personnel on site at all times.
Can the SP pumps also be operated in a horizontal position?
SP submersible pumps with a Grundfos or other submersible motor can be operated in any position from horizontal to vertical. The motor is arranged below the pump. A cooling jacket is generally required for these installation positions.
Does the SQ/SQE have a soft start?
Yes, the pump has an integrated soft start feature in order to reduce start-up current, thus assuring even, continuous acceleration.
Does the built-in excess temperature protection of the UPS pump need to be used?
If excess temperature protection is not properly connected or bridged, the pump may be permanently damaged. In addition, this will also void the pump's warranty.
