Compact RO unit with pretreatment
Our series of frame-mounted compact units type CU:RO for demineralization of water comprises a complete reverse osmosis system with built-in pretreatment on the same stainless steel frame – ready to operate from day one. The CU:RO series includes five different sizes with flow rates ranging from 0.4 to 2.0 m³/h, each available with three pretreatment options.
Advantages of compact RO
Quality equipment for a reliable operation
Reverse osmosis pretreatment options
Proper pretreatment of the feedwater is essential for continuous reliable operation. Pretreatment ensures efficient membrane operation by preventing clogging and fouling caused by suspended particles and scale-forming minerals. If the feedwater contains free chlorine, it can be removed using an activated carbon filter.
Available pretreatment options:
- One-tank softening plant
- Two-tank softening plant (parallel operation)
- Two-tank plant with combined filling for softening and free chlorine removal (parallel operation)
Optimal water treatment for district heating plant in Denmark
The Danish district heating company in Skanderborg-Hørning is a consumer-owned cooperative that supplies heat to 9,500 citizens through a 300-kilometre network comprising six heating stations and five pumping stations.
To support the system, Grundfos has delivered a complete water treatment plant for make-up water. For optimal performance and to prevent corrosion in the district heating pipes, the make-up and circuit water must be demineralized, deoxidized, free from mechanical impurities, and pH-regulated.
The treatment process begins with ion exchange to soften the city water, followed by reverse osmosis for demineralization in a compact unit. Oxygen is then removed using membrane degassing - a chemical-free, space-saving solution.
