The central part of a differential-pressure sensor is a chip which transforms the differential pressure into electrical signals. The difference between the two system pressures on either side of the chip, called the differential pressure, causes the chip to warp. This is registered as a change of resistance in the strain gauges of a Wheatstone bridge. The change in resistance is converted into an analog output signal.
