Side-stream filtration for closed-circuit water systems
This Grundfos SSF filtration system is ideal for the removal of suspended solids and sludge. A side-stream flow of water, drawn from the system by the circulation pump built into the SSF unit, is pumped through the cyclone filter where suspended solids or sediment are separated by centrifugal force – using dynamic separator technology. Cleaned filtered water is then returned to the system via the separator outlet.
Reliable protection for valves and components
The SSF system provides continuous side-stream filtration to protect control valves and sensitive components from blockages and wear. Suspended solids in the circulating water are automatically separated and collected in the bag filter housing. When the bag reaches capacity, the control panel’s ‘bag full’ indicator alerts the operator, enabling quick, proactive maintenance without system disruption.
By continuously removing suspended particles, the SSF prevents fouling on heat exchangers and pipework, maintains thermal efficiency, and reduces the need for chemical cleaning – resulting in lower operating costs, less downtime, and longer equipment life.
