Advanced side-stream filtration for fine suspended solids
The Grundfos SSF-FS filtration system is designed for applications that demand the removal of very fine suspended solids and sludge from closed-circuit water systems. It provides continuous side-stream filtration as an enhanced alternative to the standard SSF range.
A dedicated circulation pump draws a small flow of water from the main system and passes it through the integrated filter housing, which contains a high-efficiency bag filter and a Ferro-Stick magnetic insert. The magnetic insert captures fine ferrous particles – such as rust and corrosion residues – that conventional filters may not retain.
Continuous filtration with no backwashing or flushing required
As water passes through the SSF-FS unit, suspended solids are captured in the high-efficiency filter bag according to its micron rating, while the Ferro-Stick magnetic insert attracts and retains fine ferrous particles. This dual-action filtration process delivers exceptionally clean circulating water, helping to prevent fouling on heat exchangers, valves, and pipework – and supporting consistent system performance and long-term reliability.
